Facilitation
is the process by which groups are empowered to achieve their goals in a more creative and
productive manner. Groups both large and small are often charged with developing or
implementing new products, policies or procedures and facilitation is a tool to allow them
to function more effectively. Facilitation is also a method by which parties to a
dispute are prepared for negotiation or mediation. In larger or chronic disputes,
the parties often need facilitation before they are ready to negotiate or otherwise
interact in a mediated environment. Facilitation can also take the form of
developing internal processes and in-service training of staff.
Fee for Service
Facilitation services are billed
on either an hourly basis or per total project. The cost is determined by the
complexity of the situation, number of parties involved, and length of time necessary to
complete the process. The facilitator will provide scheduling, convening, and reporting
services, among others as needed.
